THE AIREDALE HAS AN UNLIMITED AMOUNT OF ENERGY

The Airedale Terrier is a large version of the Welsh Terrier. Terriers have a lot of spunk and are a lot of fun to be around! This breed is no exception! They are not a boring breed that is going to sleep on a couch all day. This breed has a tremendous amount of boundless energy. They are tall dogs and in the United States they primarily are family pets. Their wiry coat must be combed out or if showing the dog, stripped. This breed does well in all environments. The Airedale is an adaptable dog that does well in a city, suburban or country setting.

REQUIRE LOTS OF EXERCISE

The Airedale loves to exercise and needs to be allowed to run as much as possible. The breed, for its size, is very strong. Just look at the massive jaw! The canine teeth are some of the longest that I have seen on any dog. They do not put up with any guff.  The breed will routinely lunge toward another dog; even if being walked on a leash. I have worked on many Airedale dogs and most of them have an even temperament. The Airedale is a healthy animal; with no particular medical issue that targets the breed. They are popular dogs for a good reason!
